Dinosaur Attractions in the Beehive State
With the Jurassic Park movie being released, it has sparked a new interest in Dinosaurs. If you and your family love dinosaurs then here are some great places for your own dinosaur adventure in the Beehive State.
Dinosaur National Monument
Here you will be able to experience the famous dinosaur fossil quarry. It is long sandbar that is 200 foot and is where you will be able to view more than 1500 dinosaur bones.
Ogden’s George S. Eccles Dinosaur Park
This is 8 acre outdoor museum that showcases predators, prehistoric crawlers, flying reptiles and marine creatures. There are more than 125 sculptures of dinosaurs that have all been based on the fossils of these creatures.
Here you will find the world’s largest collection of mounted dinosaur skeletons. There are thousands of fossils and more than 60 mounted dinosaur specimens. Kids have the chance to touch real fossils and also dinosaur eggs and bones.
College of Eastern Utah Prehistoric Museum
The CEU Prehistoric Museum has 8 skeletons that are all complete, dinosaur tracks that were removed from the local coal mines, fossils and dinosaur eggs. The CEU are best known for their discovery of the Utahraptor, which is also the star of the original Jurassic Park movie.
Cleveland Lloyd Dinosaur Quarry
The Cleveland Lloyd Dinosaur Quarry is a treasure trove of dinosaur bones as there are more bones per square yard then you will find anywhere else. They have excavated the bones of 74 dinosaurs. In total 12 000 bones have been found and there still thousands left to be uncovered.
The Dinosaur Museum
At the Dinosaur Museum, you will be able to find out how dinosaurs lived all over the world. There is also a hall of Hollywood dinosaur movie that contains all sorts of memorabilia.
St. George dinosaur Discovery Site at Johnson Farm
This is thought to be the most important dinosaur track site in North America. The Dinosaur Discovery Site has some of the oldest and the most well preserved footprints in the world. There are over 2000 tracks from all types of dinosaurs.
